THE CAMEROON INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL - CAMIFF 2018


“3rd  Edition CAMIFF Program"

Festival Dates: Monday April 23 to Saturday April 28, 2018

           The Cameroon international film festival - CAMIFF is an event, which seeks to inspire filmmakers, actors and other film industry players into arts of filmmaking.
CAMIIF has collaborated with major companies like MTN Cameroon, Canon, Source de pays (Supermont), DIAGEO and others, in order to enhance the movie viewing experience in Cameroon, Africa and the world at large.

         The Cameroon International Film Festival (CAMIFF) is a project designed to be the largest convener of talented individuals in the film sector in Africa, and in Cameroon in particular. As the first of its kind International film festival west of the Mungo, the festival has and will continue to deliver a rich program of film competitions with the biggest monetary prize in the continent, as well as key note conversations and panels of discussions on issues affecting cinema and the film industry in Cameroon and on the continent.

        This 3rd edition of the event will take place in Buea, South West Region of Cameroon at the Mountain Hotel from Monday April 23 to Saturday April 28, 2018. The festival is a six day action filled program with different activities geared towards enhancing the art of filmmaking and cinema(movie viewing experience),  photography, culture, tourism, movie auditions and others.

      The CAMIFF Festival starts on Monday, April 23, 2018 with the opening movie screening at the W shopping mall, immediately followed by a festival launching cocktail at the Buea Mountain Hotel.
On Tuesday April 24th, delegates and festival attendees will participate in a touristic bus tour of the South West region concluding at the Bimbia Slave trade post in Limbe.
       On Wednesday the 25th of April, delegates will participate in movie screenings, and multiple workshops on marketing and distribution, movie producing; “Acting at peak performance” and other subjects. The evening will be concluded by the now famous CAMIFF Cultural night which will showcase Cameroon’s, Africa’s and our international delegates’ rich and diverse culture.  The cultural night is meant to promote cultural heritage, and provide an environment for exchange and mutual understanding amongst nations and develop cooperation among filmmakers across the world. Entertainment performances from well renowned cultural artists from the South West region of Cameroon are planned for the cultural night..
          On Thursday, the 26 of April, activities include: Film screenings at the W cinema, Acting Master class and a CANON workshop with movie producers and directors, at the Mountain Hotel. The workshop provides a forum for close interaction and some training between CANON delegates and the movie producers and directors. The evening will be concluded with a red and White party, proudly sponsored by CANON.

       On Friday the 27 of April, CAMIFF will celebrate the students of the Acting Master class. A symposium program with North Western University from Qatar. Also the CAMIFF closing movie will be screened at W Cinema. The evening is concluded by An all white party at the Mountain Hotel.

       Saturday April 28, dawns with the closing and Awards ceremony. The closing ceremony will be presided by the Honourable Minister of Arts and Culture. Other attendees include The regional Director of Cinema, Cameroon; The director of West African Cinema; Canon team; All delegates; All partners and sponsors; and other distinguished guests. These attendees will also witness the Awards handed to various categories winners.
The Awards ceremony is followed by a CAMIFF festival closing Gala.
CAMIFF promises an unforgettable experience rich with networking, mentorship, collaborations, entertainment and cultural enrichment. A definite “not to be missed” festival!
